Internal Shipping Option
The internal shipping option is designed to give you several ways to charge shipping based upon either "Static calculations" or "Table Dynamic Zone Charts".

Static Shipping Calculations

Flat Shipping Rate
If you wish to charge a fixed amount for delivery you can use this option. Simply check the Flat Shipping Rate check box and supply the amount you wish to charge in the Value box.

Notes

  • Do not include the currency symbol when entering data
  • This option will supercede any of the Zone Shipping options.
  • You can use this option in conjunction with the free shipping options.
  • If you choose this option the "Percentage of Cart Total" option will become de-selected

Percentage of Cart Total
You can use a flat percentage of the carts total monetary value.
Example: if the customers cart has accumulated to $150 and you specified 10% the shipping will be calculated to a value of $15

Notes

  • Do not include the percent (%) symbol when entering data
  • If you wish to use 5% just enter 5 as the value, not .05
  • This option will supercede any of the Zone Shipping options.
  • You can use this option in conjunction with the free shipping options.
  • If you choose this option the "Flat Shipping Rate" option will become de-selected

Free Shipping
You can offer free shipping a few different ways.

  1. Free shipping for all orders irregardless of the order value. (Specify a Value of 0 in the "Free Shipping Over Amount" Box and check it's checkbox to turn it on.)
  2. Free Shipping Over a predefined total cart value. (Specify the desired total cart monetary value in the "Free Shipping Over Amount" Box and check it's checkbox to turn it on.) This will allow free shipping over the cart value specified.
  3. Free Shipping Up To a predefined total cart value. (Specify the desired total cart monetary value in the "Free Shipping 'Up To' Amount" Box and check it's checkbox to turn it on.) This will allow free shipping up to the cart value specified.
  4. You can use the Free 'Over' and the Free 'Up to' together.
  5. If you use these options it will also apply to the Zone table options.

Table Dynamic Zone Charts
(This option will not be used in the store if either the "Flat Shipping" or the "Percentage of Cart Total" options are checked)

The Zone table option will allow you to create up to 5 different shipping zones and each zone can have up to 10 different options, The zones can be setup to either apply a fixed monetary value or a percentage of the carts total monetary value. There is also an option to globally set an overage amount that can be charged if the cart exceeds a set monetary value. If more than one zone meets the criteria the customer will be presented with a radio button set with the available shipping rates, they can then choose which shipping option to use.

Global Zone override
You can specify to charge either a fixed rate or a percentage of the carts monetary value if the cart value exceeds a predefined monetary value. This option can be used with the Zone Tables and will apply the rate or percentage if the carts value exceeds the "Over" amount.

The below example shows that a shipping rate of 7% will be applied to any order that exceeds $250. If the order does not exceed $250 then the appropriate zone tables will be used

Compute Shipping by Cart Value or Ship Units
This option will determine what value to use to apply the shipping rate against, you can either let it compute by using the carts monetary value or by the values you supplied in the "Ship Units" box in the add/edit products utilities. This will be used by the From/To boxes in the Zone table.

Zone Creation
To create a new zone click the "Add Zone" Button in the "Shipping Zone" section.
An add zone entry form will appear for you.

  1. Name the zone, Example USPS First Class.
  2. Select either the $ or the % symbol. This will determine weather to apply a monetary value or use a percentage of the carts total as the shipping rate.
  3. The new zone by default will be in an active status, you can turn the zone off at any time if you decide you do not wish to use it. You can also delete a zone after it is created, but the Zone Status will allow you to turn it off in case you may wish to use it again in the future.
  4. Create your zone tables by simply defining From, To, and a Value. The From / To entries will reflect which type of option you selected in the "Compute Shipping by either Cart Value or by Ship Units" option described above, and the Value will reflect the option you selected of either a Monetary ($) or a Percent (%) for this zone.
    Example:
If you selected the Compute from "Ship Units". The value that will be used to find the appropriate rate will be supplied by the store adding all the "Ship Units" values you had supplied in each product that was put in to the cart.
If you selected the Compute from "Value". The total monetary value of the cart will be used to determine appropriate rate.

The above illustrations show a new zone named USPS First Class. The From / To boxes will use the carts total cart value and the resulting rate will be a dollar value.

Zone Editing or Deletion
To edit an existing zone select it from the Zone drop down and click go.

You will then have an edit/delete form.

Simply make the changes you wish and click "Save Changes" or click delete if you wish to delete the zone completely. you can also turn the zone off which will prevent it from being an option for the customer at checkout time.
